A personalized game gift for your friends: a thank-you letter you can play
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
To say thank you to your friends, give them a personalized 2D pixel game from oin (oingift.com). They become the main character, generated from an authorized photo, and your two letters and a 5-question quiz about your friendship are built into the levels. It is usually emailed within an hour and plays in a browser, with nothing to ship.
What the game is, in one page
Thank-you notes get read once and filed. In oin the thank-you is something they play: they control the main character, collects flowers by answering questions about what you share, and ends on a letter that says what their support meant.
The story is built from what you fill in: an authorized photo for the main character, two letters, a 5-question quiz with flowers for correct answers and up to two custom NPCs. The final level is set in Almaty, Kazakhstan; New York and Tokyo are coming soon.
What to write in the two letters
Use the first letter to name something specific they did, with the day and the detail. Use the second to say what it changed for you.
Five quiz questions to start from
Let the quiz questions be the small things they do without being asked, so passing them feels like being seen.
- What game did we play all night?
- What was the nickname from school?
- Where did we first meet?
- Which trip went wrong, and why?
- Which of us cried at the film?
Why it suits your friends
For a group, the game works as an inside joke you can all play together. Give the NPC slots to two members of the group who agree to appear.
Pick quiz questions only the group could answer, so the whole room argues about them.
If you want to give it today
Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment, and it needs no occasion: a gift on an ordinary day tends to be remembered longer.
There is no deadline, which lets you order things that take a week to arrive. Pair a quick digital gift with something that needs shipping.
How to make it, step by step
- Upload an authorized photo of them; the main character is generated from it.
- Write the two letters: one opens the game, one closes the final level.
- Add a 5-question quiz about your friendship; each correct answer is rewarded with flowers.
- Add up to two custom NPCs, friends or family, as long as everyone who appears agrees.
- Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.
Price, delivery and refunds
It costs $29.90 as a one-time payment, with regional pricing and no subscription. Payment runs on a secure Polar checkout and Polar is the Merchant of Record, so oin never sees your card. After payment the game is generated automatically and emailed, usually within an hour, as a private link that stays available for one year plus a downloadable copy. If generation fails, the payment is refunded automatically. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
What is a personalized 2D game gift and how does oingift.com make one?
It is a short video game made about someone you care about. On oingift.com you upload an authorized photo, write two letters and five quiz questions, and pay once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour as a private browser link.
How do I say thank you to my friends?
Write what you are grateful for in two short letters, add five quiz questions about the things they do for you, and give them the game as a private link. The thank-you is spoken twice, at the start and the end of the story.
How long does it take to receive the game?
About an hour in most cases. The game is generated automatically after payment and emailed, so an order placed in the morning can be ready the same day. There is no parcel and no customs.
Can my friends play it on a phone without installing anything?
Yes. The game runs in an ordinary web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, so they only has to open the link: no install, no account and no gaming PC.
