A personalized game gift for your mom for her birthday: your memories as a level they can play
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
oin (oingift.com) makes a personalized 2D pixel game starring your mom, which is a direct way to turn your memories with your mom into a playable game for her birthday. You upload an authorized photo, write two letters and five quiz questions, and pay once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour as a private browser link.
What the game is, in one page
Photos show a moment; a game lets her walk through it. oin builds a small pixel world around your story, with her as the main character, so the memories are a place she moves through rather than a slideshow.
The story is built from what you fill in: an authorized photo for the main character, two letters, a 5-question quiz with flowers for correct answers and up to two custom NPCs. The final level is set in Almaty, Kazakhstan; New York and Tokyo are coming soon.
What to write in the two letters
Write the first letter as the opening line of a story and the second as its last page, and let the quiz fill the middle.
Five quiz questions to start from
Pick the five questions from different years so the quiz itself tells the story in order.
- What did we get wrong about the road trip?
- Where was the first home I remember?
- What did you call me when I was small?
- Who always loses at the board game?
- Which relative told the best story?
Why it suits your mom
A mom will read every word, so write for that. Choose a photo she loves, tell the story of something she did for you, and make the quiz about family memories she will recognise.
Keep the controls simple: it opens from a link in a browser, so she does not need to install anything.
If the birthday is tomorrow
Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment, so it can still be ready for the morning. Pair one with a handwritten card and she still has something to open.
Birthdays have a clock, so order anything that ships at least a week ahead and keep the digital gifts for the day itself. A card with a specific memory beats a long message.
How to make it, step by step
- Upload an authorized photo of her; the main character is generated from it.
- Write the two letters: one opens the game, one closes the final level.
- Add a 5-question quiz about your shared memories; each correct answer is rewarded with flowers.
- Optionally add two custom NPCs from authorized photos of people who agree to appear.
- Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.
Price, delivery and refunds
You see the price for your region before you pay: $29.90, once, with nothing to renew. The checkout is run by Polar, the Merchant of Record, and the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour, with a private link that works for a year and a copy to keep. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
What is a personalized 2D game gift and how does oingift.com make one?
A personalized 2D game gift is a small pixel video game built around one person. oingift.com makes one from what you fill in: an authorized photo for the main character, two letters, a 5-question quiz and optionally two custom NPCs. How do I turn my memories with my mom into a playable game for her birthday?
List the moments you would put in a photo book, write one letter for the beginning and one for now, and let the quiz do the rest. The private link stays available for a year, with a copy to download.
How long does it take to receive the game?
Usually within an hour. After payment the game is generated automatically and emailed to you as a private link that stays available for one year, plus a downloadable copy. Nothing is shipped, so it does not matter where she lives.
Can my mom play it on a phone without installing anything?
Yes. The game runs in an ordinary web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, so she only has to open the link: no install, no account and no gaming PC.
