Los Angeles to Almaty: the time difference

Almaty is about 13 hours ahead of Los Angeles, so 8 pm in Almaty is roughly 7 am in Los Angeles. The gap shifts by an hour for part of the year when the clocks change.

You are on opposite sides of the day, so a call means one of you is up early or late. Choose a weekend and tell him the exact hour in his own time.

What a parcel across the border costs you

A parcel from Los Angeles to Almaty crosses a border, so allow one to three weeks and check customs rules for food, liquids and anything with a battery. A digital gift has none of that.

Buying for your boyfriend

Skip the generic and go for something tied to a shared joke, a trip or a hobby. It shows you pay attention.

Pair something useful with one that is just for fun.

If you left it late

Valentine’s Day is the busiest day for flowers and restaurants, so book now. Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game arrive fast, and an oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment.

Restaurants and flowers sell out around the 14th, so book a week ahead if you can. A home dinner with a good playlist is a real alternative.

Opening it together on a call

Send the link, agree a time that works in both cities and open the game on a video call. You can read the quiz questions aloud while he plays, or share your screen and watch.

Almaty is also where every oin game ends, since the final level is set in the city, so a game for a couple with Almaty in the story has a natural last stop.
