Almaty to New York: the time difference

New York is about 10 hours behind Almaty, so 8 pm in New York is roughly 6 am in Almaty. The gap shifts by an hour for part of the year when the clocks change.

You are on opposite sides of the day, so a call means one of you is up early or late. Choose a weekend and tell them the exact hour in their own time.

What a parcel across the border costs you

A parcel from Almaty to New York crosses a border, so allow one to three weeks and check customs rules for food, liquids and anything with a battery. A digital gift has none of that.

Buying for your best friend

A best friend knows you well enough to spot a generic gift. Aim for something that refers to a joke, a trip or a rule only the two of you understand.

The more specific, the better, and it does not need to be expensive.

If you want to give it today

A gift with no date attached says more than one on a deadline. Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game are quick to arrange, and an oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment.

There is no deadline, which lets you order things that take a week to arrive. Pair a quick digital gift with something that needs shipping.

Opening it together on a call

Pick a slot when you are both free, send the link and stay on the call while they play. The quiz makes a good conversation, because only the two of you know the answers.

Almaty is also where every oin game ends, since the final level is set in the city, so a game for a couple with Almaty in the story has a natural last stop.
