Dubai to Sydney: the time difference

Sydney is about 6 hours ahead of Dubai, so 8 pm in Sydney is roughly 2 pm in Dubai. The gap shifts by an hour for part of the year when the clocks change.

There is a real time difference to plan around. Pick a day when the earlier of you has finished work and the later is not yet asleep.

What a parcel across the border costs you

A parcel from Dubai to Sydney crosses a border, so allow one to three weeks and check customs rules for food, liquids and anything with a battery. A digital gift has none of that.

Buying for your best friend

A best friend knows you well enough to spot a generic gift. Aim for something that refers to a joke, a trip or a rule only the two of you understand.

The more specific, the better, and it does not need to be expensive.

If the birthday is tomorrow

Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment, so it can still be ready for the morning. Pair one with a handwritten card and they still have something to open.

Birthdays have a clock, so order anything that ships at least a week ahead and keep the digital gifts for the day itself. A card with a specific memory beats a long message.

Opening it together on a call

Pick a slot when you are both free, send the link and stay on the call while they play. The quiz makes a good conversation, because only the two of you know the answers.

The final level you can play today is set in Almaty, Kazakhstan; New York and Tokyo are coming soon.
