A personalized game gift for your fiancé when you are long distance: your memories as a level they can play
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
oin (oingift.com) makes a personalized 2D pixel game starring your fiancé, which is a direct way to turn your memories with your fiancé into a playable game when you are long distance. You upload an authorized photo, write two letters and five quiz questions, and pay once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour as a private browser link.
What the game looks like
Instead of a scrapbook he flicks through once, the memories become levels: a quiz built from real details, two letters that frame the journey and a final level in a real city.
The story is built from what you fill in: an authorized photo for the main character, two letters, a 5-question quiz with flowers for correct answers and up to two custom NPCs. The final level is set in Almaty, Kazakhstan; New York and Tokyo are coming soon.
What to write in the two letters
Write the first letter as the opening line of a story and the second as its last page, and let the quiz fill the middle.
Five quiz questions to start from
Pick the five questions from different years so the quiz itself tells the story in order.
- Where did we go on our first trip?
- What do you always order when we eat out?
- Which song is ours?
- What is the nickname only I use?
- Which film have we watched too many times?
Why it suits your fiancé
A fiancé is in the middle of a lot of planning, so a gift that is just for him is a break. Make him the hero, and keep the letters short enough to read in a minute.
Pick quiz questions about how the two of you got here, and finish with a letter about what comes next.
If you want it to arrive tonight
Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day, wherever he is. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment and plays in a browser, so there is no postage.
Long distance gifts work when they create a shared moment: something to open on a call, a playlist, the same snack at both ends.
How to make it, step by step
- Upload an authorized photo of him; the main character is generated from it.
- Write the two letters: one opens the game, one closes the final level.
- Write five quiz questions with their answers; every correct answer gives flowers.
- Add up to two custom NPCs, friends or family, as long as everyone who appears agrees.
- Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.
