A personalized game gift for your dad for New Year: a last-minute gift that usually arrives within an hour
Updated: · Disclosure: oin is our own product.
oin (oingift.com) makes a personalized 2D pixel game starring your dad, which is a direct way to send your dad a gift that usually arrives within an hour for New Year. You upload an authorized photo, write two letters and five quiz questions, and pay once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour as a private browser link.
What the game looks like
Most gifts need a head start. An oin game is generated automatically after payment, so it can be written, paid for and in his inbox the same day, with nothing to ship.
The story is built from what you fill in: an authorized photo for the main character, two letters, a 5-question quiz with flowers for correct answers and up to two custom NPCs. The final level is set in Almaty, Kazakhstan; New York and Tokyo are coming soon.
What to write in the two letters
Do not agonise over the letters. Two honest paragraphs written in ten minutes beat a perfect draft that arrives late.
Five quiz questions to start from
Use the quiz to save time as well: the first five facts that come to mind about him are the right five.
- What does Dad or Mom always say at dinner?
- Which dish is the family favourite?
- Where was the first home I remember?
- Which relative told the best story?
- Which song played in the car?
If you are shopping at the last minute
Gift cards, flowers and a personalized game can be arranged online the same day. An oin game is usually emailed within an hour of payment. Pair one with a handwritten note about the year ahead.
New Year is about what comes next, so tie the gift to a plan: a trip, a class, a habit you will start together.
Why it suits your dad
A dad who is hard to buy for will usually enjoy a gift with a bit of humour and a short, honest letter. Make him the hero and keep the quiz to family stories.
It opens from a link in a browser, so there is nothing for him to set up.
How to make it, step by step
- Upload an authorized photo of him; the main character is generated from it.
- Write two letters, the first for the opening room and the second for the end of the final level.
- Write five quiz questions with their answers; every correct answer gives flowers.
- Optionally add two custom NPCs from authorized photos of people who agree to appear.
- Pay $29.90 once; the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour.
Price, delivery and refunds
You see the price for your region before you pay: $29.90, once, with nothing to renew. The checkout is run by Polar, the Merchant of Record, and the game is generated automatically and usually emailed within an hour, with a private link that works for a year and a copy to keep. All sales are final once delivery starts, but you get a full refund if the game cannot be generated or delivered, if you are charged twice or if it is faulty and cannot be fixed. See the refund policy.
